Welcome to "This Life".....the sordid details of my whole existence. Well not my whole existence but perhaps starting from today.

Today is a celebration. After all it is day number 13269 of my existence "Why is that so special ?" I hear you ask ? Well I can't really answer that but the fact that I woke up today is reason enough to celebrate. Yesterday it was 44 Degrees celsius (111 degrees fahrenheit) here in Melbourne Australia. It was extremely opressive and forced me to undertake a heavy course of fluid replacement which begun earlier rather than later in the day. The "Fluid Replacement" course begun with a few quiet beers by myself whilst watching the tennis on TV and progressed throughout the day to include copious amounts of gods own nectar "Jim Beam" and 10 or so friends. Suffice to say that I was shitfaced come midnight. I don't remember too much detail after that, although I have been told that I was singing along to 80's music (Tainted Love by Soft Cell) at 2.30am.....enough said.....

Today I am a little hazy but thankful for being alive after yesterdays "Fluid Replacement" course. The weather is far more enjoyable today with the heat gone for a few days or so. Summer in Australia really is bittersweet. At the moment less than 400 klms from Melbourne a bushfire burns out of control taking town after town with it. What started as two or three smaller fires has become one huge fire and is burning across a front covering more than 300 klms long. It is terrible to watch the vision on TV off flames 100ft high racing through rural Australia. Depressing as it is, there are many uplifting images of mateship and camaraderie which makes you feel good about being alive.

Enough of the doom and gloom for today...I have vented my spleen for the very first time...perhaps I will find the motivation to comeback tomorrow and get into who I am.....
